I booked Linda as my private midwife for my full pregnancy, postnatal care and hospital birth support. She was absolutely brilliant and the care I received was amazing and thorough. I felt very well cared for and the fact that all my appointments were in my own home made it possible for my husband and older children to be completely involved in the lead up to our new baby – which helped everyone to bond and connect with her as a family while I was pregnant. The continuity of care from one person throughout was a God send and I was listened to and supported in all my decisions. Linda was my birth partner for my planned c section and her support before and during surgery made the world of difference to me and my anxiety surrounding the birth. Postnatal care has been excellent and far more comprehensive than I have experienced in the past with the NHS. Linda and her private midwife services are worth their weight in gold – out of three pregnancies this is the most cared for and supported I’ve felt by a health care professional.

After a long induction and labour ending in emergency c section I contacted linda for some postnatal support as I had growing concerns about coming home and how we would cope.

I had initially planned to have my parents who don’t live locally to come and stay for the first few days to help my husband and I, as well as my in laws who would pop in. However due to coronovirus I, like many other women found myself faced with that not being a possibility and I felt very isolated. After an unplanned section I now found myself with very limited movement whilst I recovered from the delivery. I also had concerns about my recovery and care, and the lack of face to face doctors appointments if needed. Community midwifes have also had to reduce their appointments- although I have been lucky to have two face to face appointments. When leaving hospital I was informed when handed a pack of contact numbers that many of these services were currently not running, for example there was no specialist breast feeding support.

Working with linda has been amazing, having already met her from her antenatal classes I knew I could fully rely on her and she felt part of the family already. linda has fully supported my family, helping me settle back in at home, personal care when I arrived home, and worked extensively with me to finally be able to breastfeed my son. She has picked up things for me from the supermarket and always been a text or phone call away- an absolute god send the morning after. a night of colic. Having Linda check my health and the healing of my wound regularly has been a huge weight of my mind. Linda has been the professional support I was missing as well as filling in the gaps from not being able to have family around rolled into one and has been so kind and supportive throughout.
